If your pet is new to herbs, they may be reluctant to dig into their dish. That's perfectly understandable; we two-leggers do the same.
To help you get started, we've pulled together a few tips and tricks. We've used these ideas to add herbs to our own four-leggers' diets.
- Fish stock– it's raw, fermented, and super smelly, so it’s a great way to hide other smells.
- Bone broth mixed with warm water – it's savory, aromatic, and a delight for four-leggers.
- Smoothies –You can blend blueberries with water or yogurt and add the supplement powders.
- Egg Quiches – Gently mix the powder and an egg and pour them into little muffin tins. You can freeze them or bake low and slow.
- Peanut Butter- Be sure there's no Xylitol in the ingredients
- Pumpkin– unsweetened canned pumpkin
- Coconut oil– lightly melt coconut oil, mix with the powder, and freeze into cute bone shapes.
- You could also replace the coconut oil with yogurt, cottage cheese, kefir, smoothie, fish stock, bone broth, or whatever they love.
- Make a tea from the powdered blend by steeping ¼ tsp powder in ¼ cup of hot water. Mix two tablespoons of tea into the food.
Keep switching it up, and be patient. The benefits are absolutely worth it.
