We always make our sourcing decisions based on the quality of ingredients first and foremost.

Their origin may rotate because of availability or seasonality, but what remains constant is our standards.

Several steps are taken in the sourcing process to ensure those standards are met.

  • Identifying and verifying every individual ingredient ensures that only the most authentic herbs are used in Herbsmith formulas.
  • The herbs are also subject to testing to check consistency, concentration, and active constituents of each compound to guarantee that it meets our potency and effectiveness standards for therapeutic levels in our blends.
  • We also only partner with vendors that comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) because the biggest priority is safety.
  • Every batch of herbs must be accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA), which assures us that all necessary steps were taken to ensure quality and potency.
  • And while Herbsmith pairs with reputable vendors who comply with stringent standards, we still have our own quality control measures in place for verification. Random in-house and third-party testing not only verifies the COAs but it's a way to perform vendor monitoring.
