Freeze-dried food is exactly as it sounds– dry.  We recommend adding warm-to-hot water or broth because moisture is crucial in your four-legger’s diet. If your dog prefers it dry, just make sure to provide fresh, clean water on the side.

With The Simple Food Project recipes, we’d suggest rehydrating by adding +/-  ¾ cup warm water or bone broth for every cup of food. But your dog can take the lead.

For the feline freeze-dried raw eaters, we strongly recommend always adding hot to warm water. If they miss the crunch, prepare it how this whiskered workmate prefers it– soak for two minutes, then sprinkle with a few crunchies on top.
